Are you building a co-working community?

Don’t you wonder why ‘community is about doing something together that makes belonging matter’? The two main goals of a coworking community are building a community of professionals and developing an environment where people feel like home. It is necessary for the administrators to greet the clients with a very warm welcome.

People from different cultural backgrounds and diverse communities of professionals operate harmoniously. If you are wondering why building a community is necessary whereas all a workspace should have been professionalism, then you are wrong. Here are some efforts that are required to build an effective community in a coworking space.

  1. Coworking Newsletters

Newsletters or blogs should be circulated and also that invites all the members in coworking spaces to share their opinions and talk about their experiences and work. These blogs are supposed to contain the future of a certain industry or publishing interviews of the employees on their perspectives and thoughts. These interviews can break the ice and can reveal a lot of things which coworkers don’t know about themselves.

  1. Events to Network

There are events hosted regularly in coworking spaces which aims to build a strong community among the coworking members. Even though one is busy with work, they need to participate in these events to lead to self-improvement. This can help everyone to interact and network on specific occasions. These events can also be group activities that intend to work on a specific skillset or activity where guests or speakers give lectures.

  1. Happy Hours

What if you get to leave a little early on Fridays and if someone wants to stay back, they can spend some time in the lounge, sipping coffee and having some cool informal discussions.

  1. Games

To beat the stress of the work and to add more to recreation, most of the admins organize game tournaments like football, volleyball, cricket competitions. These games increase the team spirit and help people to bond.

  1. Animators

Community animators are not people who create images, but they are dedicatedly focused towards understanding the needs of members and fulfil them. They are the first ones you meet while entering a coworking space. They have the ability to deal with difficult situations when they seem to get out of your hand. Every coworking space has these community animators and they contribute in many ways.

  1. Decision Making

Involving people in decision making is very important when people are working together in a shared space. This is to seek the advice of the members even in small matters like installing a coffee machine, changing the colors of the washroom etc. There are several things where the advice of coworking members can be asked for.

  1. Communication among coworkers

There should be many ways to facilitate communication between coworking members. This can be enforced through in house communication like Facebook groups, Slack, WhatsApp groups, so that they connect very effectively.
