Green Plants Trends

Believe it or not, plants make people happy.

Considering this, people have started planting plants even though they are not green enthusiasts. Since many years workplaces also have adopted the practice of planting saplings and indoor plants. It is estimated that Biophilic design has been the best concept to impact the wellbeing and productivity of employees.

Now, if you are wondering what is a Biophilic design then imagine a building using interiors that make you feel as if you are close to nature. As 2020 just started, let us look at the trends that just gained people’s attention.

  1. Integrated Aesthetic

These days people are into messy things and they call it art. Something similar to this is this type of plant aesthetic. These are plant designs that aren’t uniform, but they impersonate the wild. Be it broad or short, these kinds of plants are in demand nowadays.

  1. Grouped Plants

Single plants are considered boring which made grouped planting more popular. The jungle-esque plant designs are stuck in the corners of office spaces. Any kind of lush or plants with broad leaves as well as ones with finer foliage can be grouped and used.

  1. Biophilia-first approach

Architects and interior designers are adding interior gardens with cabinet tops at an early design stage. They can contain just one type of plants or many in sets with clean gardening.

  1. Living Walls

These are a replication of walls covered entirely with small plants. A moss wall or plant designs like metres of replica ivy garlands can be high-quality replicas that would add to the biophilic aesthetic of a space.

  1. Understanding Origins

People are interested in knowing the origin of the plants. Hence, choosing plants that of the same family and naming them is the new trend.

Here are reasons why you should invest in some plants for your office or workplace :

  1. According to various studies, once plants were introduced at work, results showed that there is a 37 per cent decline in the tension and anxiety; a 58 per cent drop in depression and a 44 per cent decrease in anger and hostility.
  2. It is also noticed that employees productivity jumps 15 per cent when plants were introduced.
  3. Plants are meant to reduce sickness and employees absence rates.
  4. You might have been hearing scientifically that plants clean the pollutants from the air. Yes, it is true they remove chemicals such as benzene, trichloroethylene and formaldehyde from the air.

Ask your office administration and facilitation to plant some plants or saplings. At Workshaala, we have planted important plants like ferns, creepers and indoor plants to make sure the environment is serene and green.
